Recently had a problem with OWA after installing a copy of Office 2003 on my network. While away from the office I used OWA to check email (I was the 2003 user), then everybody else got an ASP 0115 error. I found the MS Hotfix solution in KB818709 and installed it. The ASP errors have gone away, but now, some users get a blank window (That is, the body of the email message is empty) when they open an email message in OWA. If they click "Reply" the reply window opens with the message intact. Problem occurs on specific mailboxes regardless of platform, ie Win9X or Win2K.

OK, this is a permissions issue somewhere, although everything was working before the hotfix and I haven't changed any permissions. I found KB314532 and followed the recommendations for TEMP folder permissions but it didn't work. However, when I added one of the failing users to the Administrators group, voila! it works. I cann't add everyone to Administrators, but it does indicate a permissions problem, but apparently not with the TEMP folder. Any ideas what else? Is it a clue that the email form opens blank, but the reply form opens intact?

We are experiencing the exact same problem with the exact same steps taken. We also tried uninstalling the hotfix from KB818709 and the blank message problem did not go away.

I am also experiencing the same problem. My environment is a little different with Exchange 2003 and KVS Enterprise Vault, but the same thing occurs through OWA, blank messages except for replying. I also assuming it's a permissions issue somewhere but can't figure out where or why?

Any update or info on this would be greatly appreciated!

We have a Win2000/Exchange 5.5 server with OWA and IE v6 SP1 on it. We started experiencing this "blank text" problem after a few windows hotfixes were installed.

A consultant told us he fixed this problem in the past by reinstalling SP4 for Exchange. We tried this but it didn't work.

We then noticed the system Environment Variables called for a C:\Temp directory which was not present on the system. After this directory was created, OWA started working properly. A reboot of the server was not necessary. The Technet article ID#314532 pointed us in the right direction.

Good Luck!

yep, you should always check if there is a c:\temp folder, ensure that you have authenticated users have full permissions to it.
