We are running OWA with Exchange 2000. OWA is on the backend server now, the front end is not setup yet. Most network users can login to OWA with no problem. There are about 4 users who cannot login. It keeps prompting for there password over and over. Error logs say it is an unknown username or bad password. These clients can login to outlook with the same username and password with no problem. It seems like IIS is not authenticating them correctly, I also ran the synciwam.vbs script thinking that the passwords were not syncronized. No luck.

Any Ideas?

Hello,
I had the same problem, come to find out all the people that were haveing problems in my network were using the same home ISP. I called the ISP and they said no it is not use, I kept calling them and finally I got a hold of some one that changed some thing on there end and it fixed the problem. They would not tell me what it was, but I am sure it was a security option they had set some where.

This may or may not help,

Are you serving up multiple domains on this server? If so, in order to access OWA, the user needs to have a valid email address for the base domain.

Yes, we are. I figured this out yesterday. The users had a different smtp address than what the virtual directories were pointing to. I realized all exchange virtual directories point to the smpt address in you default recipient policy. I created a new exchange virtual directory and selected the smpt address for this domain.
Thanks
