Hey...i've seen on exchange 5.5 where when a user puts in it takes the user to a web site that looks pretty nice so that the user can log in with. I heard that exchange 2k3 has this same feature but how can i get it going?

Thanks, PAUL

I guess you talking about OWA (Outlook Web Access) which is built into exchage. Once you install and configure Exchange you will have OWA. Exchange will use IIS and configure itself for OWA access.

no no...i know that and understand it...but in 5.5 there is an option u can install that has a neat little interface for exchange..its a web page and basically says outlook web access bla bla bla...please enter your name and email to enter your mailbox blablabla..

Thanks, PAUL

I think you are talking about how OWA 5.5 had a different way of authentication. You would come to a web page and in the top right hand corner enter your alias and password. In OWA 2003 it just a username/password dialouge box that comes up, thats it.

Ok i know what your asking...

Open system manager for exchange 2003

then navigate to:

Administrative Groups \ first administrative groups \ server \ *server name* \ Protocols \ http

Right click on exchange virtual server and goto the settings tab. check the text box for 'enable forms based authentication' You will the need to install a security certificate on the IIS server and connect to (the form will only show in a secure connection

Hope this helps

Dave

Hi!, yes u can enable form based auth, to do that here r the steps.

1. Exchange 2003 running on Win2000 srv/adv srv with Sp4 (must).
2. In Exchange System Maanager, go to Protocols--->HTTP---->Exchange Virtual Server.
3. Rightclick and select options.
4. Select Settings TAB
5. Check Enable Forms Base Authentication. If u r running exch2003 on win200, you will not be able to have Compression cause it is only enables in wiin2003. Anyways u dont need it. When u click OK, it will say that Certificate Service is needed ...etc...etc
6. Install Certificate Service on this server.
7. Open IIS manager
8. Properties of Default Site
9. Enable Certificate but donot REQUIRE it...just get a certificate for this site....
10. Restart IIS.....type (assumed) in browser and wolah!!!! form based auth....

Is there any way of doing this with Exchange 2000?
