I have a Windows 2000 SBS setup everything else is o.K except OWA is asking for password 3 times and then giving an error "error access is denied " the password that I use is the administrator password and I login with this password. It looks like it a ISA problem but I cant figure it out what is the solution.

This problem is happening in 3 computers with different domains. All 3 computers were installed by me

Thanks

Even When I input the DC it logs in ----- and off & on the login prompt pops up asking for username & password. Finally it kicks me out. I reinstalled the SBS and setup the ISA as per microsoft recomended way. and now it s working fine. I am really not sure what was that problem.

The problem is most likely the IIS service.

Open you IIS Manager, and check the default web properties.

Directory Security/Access.

Remove the selected setting and apply. Then reapply the settings Anon, basic, and intergrated. Then apply.

This has been the solution to our problem with OWA. Installing SP3, and Rollup Pack fixed our server.

We've seen this as well. I take it you are trying to connect to OWA within the LAN. Instead of typing in just type in the name of the server/exchange and you should be fine. You won't need to authenticate and it should open right up for you. Sometimes I think the ISA server is a more of a pain than anything.

I have been pulling my hair out on this one for a long time. I have found a cure but use at your own risk because I prettymuch dreamed it up after noticing that if I gave explicit access to the various c: directories (c:\inetpub progrfiles\exchsvr system32\inetserv and \wbem) that I could logon w/ standard user accounts and see mail but no folders (domain admins always worked) and everytime they tried to create a mssg or go to another folder more authentication and failures. My cure was to go to Domain security policy>security settings>local policy and add authenticated users to the "Bypass traverse checking". It took about 10 min to propogate thru the AD but after that all was functioning. This is a quick fix and if someone knows where all of these files / dirs are (i looked at ctrl_tree20.htc and .js because it was listed in the html page error but I saw no explicit folder references) to generate the folders view, create mssgs and switch to other folders that would be helpful. Also, I have no anon access anywhere (auth users only) and am using basic auth over ssl. Since OWA worked w/o the anon I thought why leave it in and I have not yet tried it with other authentication methods. Disabling traverse checking (stop making sure that user has rights all the way up to the root) also speeds disk access on ntfs partitions but I would rather know where the traverse check failed. HOPE THIS HELPS. Lord knows I will have a much better vacation week knowing that this is done.

P.S. Did you move the exchange data files to another partition? We did.
