Hi,

I have a small number of users which encounter this issue of consistently prompting for password to access OWA.

these users have no problem accessing to OWA in the LAN,
However when they access this in the internet they are prompt with password even though they key in the correct detail. sometime the page would load halfway.
I even told the user to use Domain\userID format to access the page. This only affect a small number of users. there are some who have no issue at all.

i suspect it might be due to local broswer setting but unable to prove it yet.

I know no voice, I knew nothing about systems,
i know NUTS on networking, Therefore I dont know anything!

This comes up regularly but never gets a solid answer. Can be the ISP, browser setting or other items. Search this forum for OWA logon.

The only thing i can think of offhand would be that somewhere the authentication is not being registered correctly.

I know exactly the problem since I have seen it a few times.

Often the problem is not opening up the DMZ correctly on the external router to allow the traffic to pass to the wan nic.

Since its allowing some users its more likely to be related to the persons logon to the machine. I have seen that the only way to get 100% reliability to to make sure the person is on the PC as a local user (users / control panel). Its a bizzare thing but im sure this may help you!!

Hi,

Sorry i forgotten the network details.

I am running a MSX2k SP3 and is passing the traffic through my Firewall/Router to my server. My user outgoing internet Access is through ISA however then these user encounter the login problem they are at home or those cybercafe...

Mikesid: i notice the same when my client is accessing their own OWA throught my ISA the authenication sometime fails. but in this case most of my users are at home / external network.

As for my own account, i never have any problem accessing it from home or anywhere. Win2000Pro or WinXP....

This is rather puzzling.

i know NUTS on networking, Therefore I dont know anything!
