Our users have already authenticated to their mailbox through OWA. They have a message that contains a link to a website. When they click on the link, another web page opens up and they are prompted again for their username and password for their account. Once they type in their username and password, they can click on any links in any message and won't get prompted again to log in.

Is there an authentication setting in IIS that isn't set properly that causing them to authenicate when clicking on a link in a message?

It should only ask for Authetication once unless you are using RSA token or something of that nature. I really dont understand your question.

Maybe you need to use a different format..

domainname\username
password

We are having the exact problem after migrating to Exchange 2003.

Did you find a resolution?

The problem was resolved but I don't know the specific resolution. There was an issue that the Internte Guest Account didn't have the proper permissions assigned in IIS to the website. Once the permissions were assigned properly, we didn't have the issue of getting prompted for a username when clicking on links within a message or when clicking on the logout button.

Hope that helps.
