OWA and Site Certificate Question 1

I have a Windows 2003 SBS server with Exchange and both OWA and Remote Web Workplace access working with one small caveat.

When logging into OWA or Remote I get a "Problem with certificate" error as follows.
1: Security Certificate is from a trusted certifying authority
2: Security Certificate date is valid
3: Name on Security Certificate is Invalid or does not match the name of the site.

#3 is where my problem lies. The name on my (self created) certificate is - ServerName.Domain.Local

What "site" name should I be using if not as above?

I am able to import the certificate and all but it doesn't correct the problem. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. What information should I be using for the self made certificate.

This is what happens when you create a cert yourself rather than buying one from a trusted source(versign). I have the same problem.

The site name should match the OWA FQDN address

for example if your users used their browser and visit
then you would make your cert out for that exact name "servername.domain.local"

Thanks sab4you,

Your reply resolved my issue. My users were accessing OWA via the IP address not the FQDN. As this is new to us I didn't realize they could also access via exchange.domain.com.

I changed the certificate to reflect the correct information, imported it and all is well.

Thanks again,

David
