New installation of Oracle 9.2.0 with OVO 8 on platform Solaris 5.9 but after Oracle installation, the ovoinstall utility runs for about 1 hour and gives the following errors:

Could not connect to database ov_net
Database: ORA-12154 TNS could not resolve service name (OpC50-15)
Look to see if database processes are running. (OpC50-2)
Error occurred running opcdb_inst
Cannot open file /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/.opcdbpwd.sec (OpC20-63)
Cannot read password file entry.
Error occurred in the opcdbinst during creation of the database tables. Error running opcdbsetup.

I verified all names and passwords too. Now I'm wondering if I should remove and install OVO 7. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have to get this installed, configured, and running by the end of tomorrow. Please help.

thanks,
Mike

Dude.....
We have simililar problems.
It lies within the installation script. It's sooooo crappy, that we manually installed Oracle.
Even after that, there were components missing.
Imagine ov without opcmsg.
It's that bad!
My professional advice, DUMP IT, go back to 7
We did that!

Hi Shubhas,

This is your co-worker who uninstalled OVO 8 and installed OVO 7 to get it to work.....

thanks for the help.
