Hi Guys,

I have an issue on the overflow.

The scenario is this: Incoming calls will be landed to reception extension but if the reception is busy, it will jump to the overflow group. Once the extension that are member to the overflow group picks up, it will start to ring again the reception extension.

Is some encountered this before?

The trunkline is analouge.

Seems once the call is pickup by overflow extensions, it will start the call flow again from the reception.

just to add, when the call hit the overflow extension, the call will jump into another trunk line

So are you saying someone actually answers the call and can then talk to the caller.

So if they have answered the call and the reception phone starts ringing what happens when you answer it..

It’s the same call that’s already being answered or another new call .

Check your hunt group members and see if someone has set a twin call back to the main number of your main line

If a trunk line is being picked up it sounds as if some sort of forwarding is on

If these are cable company converted lines I have seen where they have a bizarre rolling hunt. Line one will ring 30 seconds. Then line 1 stops and line 2 starts ringing as a new call to the IPO.

Please see below:

Answer: No, if someone from the overflow extension answers/pickup the call, the call will create a new call flow using a different trunk line.

So if they have answered the call and the reception phone starts ringing what happens when you answer it..
Answer: It says connected from the system status but the extension who picks up the call hear nothing(dead air).

It’s the same call that’s already being answered or another new call .
Answer: It is the same call.

Check your hunt group members and see if someone has set a twin call back to the main number of your main line
Answer: I checked this already and no one from the extensions has it twin enabled and even forward.

With these strange conditions sometimes the best thing is to power down the system .
This will allow the analogue card to reset.
Many a problem is cured by a simple reboot.
Other option would be to replace the analogue card..

Thanks @snowman50

The trunklines stuck in clearing once call jumps to other trunk line.

Is rebooting the system doesn't have the same impact when powering it off?

I have seen similar sort of behavior with cable company analog lines. They had a type of call hunting that would start on line one for 15 seconds and then switch to line 2 etc.

I think Budybyrd is correct. Put your testset on line 2 then call line 1 and see if the call rolls to line 2 if its not answered. I have seen this same scenario where instead of just having trunks roll over on a busy they also roll over on a no answer.
