Outsourcing overrated

The part of out-sourcing to India, is that every one there wants to be here working for big bucks. The reality is they are driving the hourly rate down. Perhaps it's more then they get now, but try living on it with a large family, which many will bring with.

I feel India as a tech center will crash by 2010, and we all are working in Mexico.

I wouldn't be that optimistic. For years the ballistic misiles experts for the western world were indians and pakistani. Lots of them went back and now they also have the bomb. Look at the writers of any descent industrial/technical magazine nowadays (Chemical engineering / plant engineering / hydro carbon processing) and start counting the indian names...

Outsourcing doesn't necessarially equate ot offshoring. Bellsouth outsourced to EDS, who hired many of the ex Bellsouth employees (at a fraction their former pay) as did P&G (outsourced to HP).
