Have a nursing home who had a situation.
A patient had expired and the attendant needed to get a hold of an off site local operator to interrupt a busy line to notify family members.(Like at home-we dial zero).
She would dial 9 (to get an outside line) and then 0 . She kept getting fast busy, so apparently she's restricted. I've always assumed that the attendant was not restricted. please let me know what to change.
in COR it's already FRL 7 .. not sure what else to change.
Any and all help is appreciated.

thanks

Make sure 0 is listed when you do a "cha ars ana 0". If not, page down and add it.

In the future everything will work...

Zero was already on there , 3 times, what does this mean?
does something need to change??

If the person is a 'real' attendant, using an Avaya console, they should be able to select the trunk group directly which will by-pass ARS. The above ARS routing specifies that '0' (single-digit), '0' (0+7 digit), and '0' (0+1+10 digit) are denied. In other words the Definity rejects the call. You would want this from a patient room.

4merAvaya is correct if the attd is a 302 console. That is why u keep the console in a secured area. Otherwise the janitor can call anyplace in the world without ars or frl restriction.

P.S. A message to all,if you want to get the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244 first. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx system & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Be aware that if u don't answer a question, I usually will not continue to help u.

it's a real attendant Console. model 302.

I hope not too sound too dumb...but
how does the attendant access the trunk group directly??
I asked them and they just looked at me ..you could hear crikets in the background..

Any help is appreciated.

The direct trunk select buttons are located on the second row of the console and have 3 leds above them that say "Control" "Warning" and "Busy". They are usually labeled with the trunk group name or the TAC.

On the attendant station form you can look on the first page. (ch atten 1) and that will list the direct trunk group selection buttons assignments. That is where you can put in the trunk group access code TAC. That will bypass your ARS and let them make that call.

Something is not right.
on change trunk group 1 & 2,(only have 2)
(1 is isnd from SBC.
2 is analog lines from a local provider)
The trunk groups TAC is 191 for trunk group 1.
on trunk group 2 its 192.
on cha atten 1 , the first button is programmed as 191, the 2nd button as 192.
pressing either on of those buttons gives me a fast busy.

any thing else i could check???

In the above example you have denied EVERYBODY from dialing the outside operator(90). In the route Pattern field put the trunk group with your local outward trunks.

I cannot see denying 0 for the entire switch.
If you need to restrict 90 for some peoplt use FRL's in the route pattern

Hope this helps

1a2 to ip I seen it all

change trunk-group 2
set Dial Access? = y
You won't be able to do this to tr 1 since it is ISDN.
