I know you can redirect a laptop screen output to a regular monitor or a projector.

Is it possible to use a laptop screen to display the video signal from a desktop computer/server ?

I've got a desktop computer in a location where there isn't enough room to fit a regular monitor - whether a CRT monitor or a flat screen, so I want to use one of our older laptops which has a perfect screen but is too slow for use as a working PC (and one of them has a dodgy built-in keyboard/mouse).

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Julia

The Laptop would need to have a video input plug, or as was said USB VNC with the appropriate software installed on it for it to work.

Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

There's some software called MaxiVista that lets you use one machine as the secondary display of another. It works over a network connection so you can use ethernet or wireless. You can get a time-limited demo here:

It's designed to let you use a laptop as a secondary display so it sounds ideal for what you're after.
