Outlook97 mails read & unread

Hi all,
in outlook 97, towards the bottom left corner, outlook displays the amount of mails that you have and the amount that is unread, can anyone tell me if and why when emails come in, and when some are deleted, this figure will not change, i have suggested creating a new outlook profile, but did not know if there was anything else that could be looked at. ________________________________________

Sorry UKalliance I don't support Win95. I'd suggest upgrading to Win98SE/W2K/XP and also running 'SR2AOF97'
Office 97 Sevice Pack 2. This has some bug fixes for Outlook.....Good Luck
