Outlook XP Won't Send (Stuck in Outbox)

Suddenly, I cannot send e-mail but can receive fine. I'm using Office XP SP-2. Desktop PC is running XP Pro and am attached to an Exchange 5.5 Server. I can send fine from another PC.
It doesn't matter if I send e-mail within our domain or outside. Was working fine until ???
Any ideas on why this could be happening?

Follow up...Thought it was my computer (running XP Pro) but it is not. Logged on as a different user and can send e-mail fine, so it must have something to do with my profile.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to delete the outbox.mbx & outbox.dbx? Possibly a corrupt outbox.

This is funny. I am experiencing the same problem all of a sudden. I partitioned my hard drive, half is running XP Pro and the other half is running Linux Red Hat 9. I do not know if this is related. I cannot send email out from Outlook express in Windows XP,it just started happening. I am not having problems with Linux though. It lets email out. What do you think could be happening? Thank you.

TaiChi56, What error message are you receiving when sending mail using OE? Their are way too many replies to this question?

When I said Office XP, I implied using Outlook not Outlook Express. So, there is no Outbox.* files to delete. Have also tried uninstalling/reinstalling Office but no luck.

Replying to assist users with a resolution. Found it was only necessary to delete the Outlook profile using the Mail applet in Control Panel. Created a new one and voila!

I have the same problem - it started recently. I deleted the applet in the Control panel (it did have an old server info), but there was no difference. My outbox gives me the following error msg: "
An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0131"
Then when I close out, it says, "You have unsent msgs in your outbox do you want to send them now?" If I say yes they go immediately.

I never received an error, the e-mail just stuck in the Outbox. I found this resolution for you on Microsoft's support site (Knowledge Base # 233264). Hope it helps.
