Hello,

I am running MetaFrame XPs and NFUSE 1.8 and I want my remote users to be able to use it for Outlook XP. I have installed everything and the install seems to be ok, but I cannot understand how I am going to configure Outlook for multiple users. I tried using the Custom Installation wizard to create a MST file and in that file I used the settings:

Mailbox: %username%
Server: exch1

This is the way I saw to do it. But this does not work. It still prompts me to input this info the first time I launch Outlook from NFUSE. It works if I put all this in, but it is stil prompting me the first time. How do I solve this?

Thanks,
Wes H

Ok, I just did an Outlook XP install on a windows 2000. As mentioned in all the FAQ on microsoft and thin.net, I ran the install from the Add/Remove Programs dialogue box. Office XP, it is claimed, automatically detects that it is being installed on a Terminal Server in Application Mode. Like you, none of my settings, such as mailbox and server were populated by the installation.

This fixed it for me:
After installing Outlook XP, with my custom transform, I ran the MAINTWIZ application. This wizard allowed me to set the default profile information for all users. After I completed the wizard, you are given the proper command line to push these changes to all and future users. Take this command line, and run it from the Add/Remove Programs dialogue. Now test by logging to the server as a user.

What I can't figure out, and I hope you can help me, is how to populate the Secondary Login credentials that sometimes appears, when the exchange password differs from the session login password.

In Response to:
Mailbox: %username%

Hello,

Thanks! I tried doing what you suggested and I logged in as a user and it still prompts me to set up the mail account. Should I unistall outlook first?

When you logged on as the user, was the a pre-existing account? My tests were against new users.

When you ran the MAINTWIZ, did you specify that the settings for email would be overwritten?

I first deleted the user profile and then logged in. I did not specify it to be overwritten though. Do I need to do this?

on page 12 of 17. I chose New Profile

Profile name: %USERNAME%

On page 13 of 17. I chose, Configure an Exchange Server Connection.

User Name: %USERNAME%
Exchange Server: YOURSERVER.YOURCONTEXT (ie. Exchange1.happygolucky.com)

I got it to work. I installed the MainWizard and used the option for use default profile and I called it "outlook" instead of the second option to use the default settings. It now seems to work for everyone!! Thanks for all your help! I appreciate it.

Hi,
try to use the /importprf Parameter wenn you start outlook.
With this Parameter you can import a prf file with the right settings.

For example: outlook /importprf c:\outlook.prf

I hope i could help you...
