Hello.

Currently we have Outlook, but will be converting to Lotus Notes very soon.

We use the rules function in Outlook to move certain items to folders... and we also use it to start and application when an email arrives.

Does anyone know if Lotus Notes has the function to open an application, or how I would go about doing that?

I'm new to Lotus Notes, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Rules is no problem at all. Autolaunch applications is not a default choice in the rule set, but there could be done changes in the mail template in e.g. to set the Memo form to 'launch first attachment' if so wanted, but even then it will be limited to the first attachment as default when opening the mail.

I don't recommend it unless you do have an extremely well functioning anti-virus program on the server (and locally). The second reason why I don't recommend it is the fact that the default template will be overwritten for each upgrade, and the default design update task will then replace the change in the template if not protected.

It is possible to launch applications, but have 'troubles' to recommend it...

Brgds,

Thanks TrooDOS!
I need it to open an access database when an email with a certain subject line arrives??

Thx.
