Outlook stops uploading POP email (ver 2000 and 2003)

My Outlook will show an error in the status bar occasionally when clicking 'send/receive'. After that point I have to close outlook and reopen it inorder to get new POP email again. Both the O/S and office is completely patched. I have this issue on two PC's for sure, one running W2K and one XP pro.

We have exchange server 2000 also so have both accounts in outlook.

Answer;
I have the answer for anyone interested. Seems my POP email supplier's server causes this issue whenever two of my users hit the POP server for thier email at the same time. The Outlook client receives an error and stops pulling POP email until outlook is closed and reopened.
