Outlook Spacing issue

Hello all,
I use outlook 2003 as my email client. I do not use word 2003 as my email editor and I need a solution to this problem without upgrading it.
I get numerous emails from people which I need to edit before I send out. When I click forward and I edit the email as soon as I start typing outlook will add two spaces before I start typing and one space after. My only solution currently which is really in convienient is to copy the email and start from scratch. Does anyone know how to get rid of this problem? or if it is even possible without upgrading to Word 2003 as well?

Does it happen if you use Word as your email editor? Does it happen with all emails from any source and in any format (plain text, RTF and HTML)?
Also, I presume you are talking about inter-paragraph spacing?

I have tested this out on other systems and using word as an email editor does not replicate the problem. However I cannot upgrade to word 2003 for other reasons. The format doesn't matter txt, rtf or html it happens just the same. The problem isn't line spacing its as such:

Take this sentence. It looks normal and everything is fnie except for the word fine!

If I forward or reply to the above as soon as I start editing the email this happens [look at the word fine]:

The '|' represents the cursor. It automatically add's two spaces before and one after. I think this is a setting I just cannot fine it!

That's really weird! Try Tools, Options, Preferences tab, Email Options and clear the check box 'Mark my Comments with' and see if that makes any difference.
