Outlook Read Receipts

For approximately the last week, Outlook has been acting strangely and it's beginning to annoy me:

I get delivery/read receipts for all outgoing messages which are placed in a separate folder when received. I usually know I have received one due to the yellow envelope on my windows task bar. Recently, I have been receiving the task bar notification but no actual delivery receipt.

Additionally, I have new messages flagged by a rule notifying me of the sender and the subject. If I open the email from this notification and delete it (without touching Inbox) the message is permanently (shift) deleted rather than being moved to the deleted items folder.

Has anyone got any ideas why this is happening or how to rectify it (other than reinstalling Outlook)?

I've not altered Outlook but our company has had servers crashing for about a week and a half - perhaps this can cause a corruption to my profile?

Try turning the feature that is giving you trouble off and then after testing that is still off turn it back on. Sometime toggling the feature on and off will make it work properly.
