outlook properties of emails

Ok I am designing a tracking system for emails and need to be able identified when an email is opened, closed etc.

So i'm just wondering whats the best way to check when an email was opened... I'm using LastModification at the moment. Any better ideas?

I check If Complete flag is done and check the time when its completed. And take it away from Time Received. Any other ways.

Also if i have a reply to email i need to check the difference between first email sent and resoultion email?


I am dumping out the results to a spreadsheet..

Maybe there is some mail property i'm missing.

after the first glance at your problem, I wonder if you ever thought about using the worklow designer for exchange, which you can download at the MS-Homepage

As far as I know that tool it could be perfect for that job.
