Outlook problem on new incoming emails

I'm using Outlook 2000 to receive Exchange emails (Exchange 5.5). Now, even there're some new incoming emails, it's no indication to let me know for the new emails, unless I click on the other folders. I've tried to uninstall the Office, delete the value in registry and re-install MS Office again. However, the situation is the same. Any ideas?

Do you have the following checked in Outlook?
Tools\Options\Preferences\Email Options (button)
Display a notification message when new email arrives

or

Tools\Options\Preferences\Email Options (button)\Advanced Email Options (button)\When New Email Arrives

Play a sound
Briefly change the mouse cursor
