I set up a rule to forward all emails to another email address. My boss works from home a lot, and uses an AOL email account from home. Rather than go through the tremendous effort of configuring Outlook to retrieve his corporate email, he had me set up a way to forward all of his work emails to his AOL account. It actually works, but there is one problem. Emails with the same topic as an earlier email do not get forwarded. So if somebody sends him an email that says "Good Times" (just for example), it will be forwarded, but subsequent emails with titles like "Good Times", "RE: Good Times", "FWD: Good Times", etc. will not be forwarded. Obviously this is a big problem since a lot of his corporate emails are responses and additions to other emails. If I open up the rules wizard and select "Run this rule now" it will forward all the ones that it skipped when they arrived.
I am using Outlook 2000 without Exchange, for Internet Mail Only. We are a small company, and use individual pop3 accounts from our ISP. I set up the outlook rule to forward all emails that come to his corporate email address to bosshomeaccount@aol.com, except emails that are from bosshomeaccount@aol.com. We leave his Outlook open all the time so this works during off-hours. The office manager tries to check for "missed" emails and forward them manually, but this is an imperfect solution. If I can't get this resolved, I may just have to show up at his house one day and tell him he's getting Outlook whether he likes it or not (I'll say it nicer than that, of course). He'd probably be happy to have me do it, but I don't know when I'll be able to. Any ideas? Opinions? Thank you.
