Hi. I wonder if anyone has come up with this problem:
We have users that are using their PAB to store mostly email addresses. Recently, one user could not EDIT the email address on the fly: To...>Select names from the: Personal address book, (right click on the entry), Properties. The "Display Name:" is grayed out, as well as the "Email Address:" does anyone know why? up to a couple of days ago, this was editable. If we add a new entry, THAT entry IS editable, but the whole bunch that was there before is not. Does it mean that we have to RE-Enter all of them? Thanks in advance for your help. Click. :-(

first off quit using pab... use contacts instead...

contacts are backed up - ussuming you do backups...

pab is in the client computer and the user has too much control over

now, look into the client computer in the application data/microsoft/outlook folder of the user profile.

see if there are two pab files... you might luck out...

Yes, I know, but MANAGEMENT thinks otherwise, you know how it is. However, even with Contacts, you can't change the address on the fly. I believe one or maybe the MAIN reason why this user was using pab's, was because the user could change it at will. What really gets me, is that other users CAN still do the changes, and not this one.
I really don't understand what you mean about the two pab's. The pab is backed up also, they reside on a network drive, backed up every night. Click.
