At times Outlook 2003 on my WinXP Pro system will bring my system to it knees for several seconds (20-60). If I look at the task mgr Outlook is consuming a super large chunk of the system. This happens several times throughout the day. Any suggestions?
Possibley using Word as the editor?
If so Word is a memory hungry app, if you aren't using Word at the time your Outlook hangs check in your task manager and it may well be running.
Kill it from there and then swith it off in the options of Outlook
Thanks - OK I've turned off word 2003 as my email editor but now my signature is screwed up (line spacing). When I used word the five lines in my signature were nicely grouped together now that I've turned word off as the editor the line spacing looks like double-space. I don't see any options to change this. When I edit the signature the only paragraph formatting option is alignment (big deal).
Any suggestion for correcting the line spacing in my signature? I noticed that when I reply to a message the spacing is OK but when I create a new message the spacing is near double space.
When I turned off "Use Word" as my email editor I left the HTML option selected and I have formatting function very similar to what I had when I used Word as the editor.
