I am trying to send about 500 emails to a list of email addresses that I have in access or excel. I want to send an html format email one at a time to each address, the reason for one at a time is so that each user can not see the other's addresses, and I also need to get a delivery receipts for each as well. Is there a way to use outlook to retrieve these addresses, send the mail, and then take the next address and send and so on.??

What about using Blind Copy and send out as a single Email ?

You could paste the Email addresses as a "long" string in one step.

Thought of that but then the address appears only as a blind copy, this would be a sort of last resort, we are trying to give the appearance that the email is at least directed to that person in the TO: box..
I know that sounds odd, but that is what was requested...

smurfer: They're not aware that it's a blind copy. Send a message to yourself, with a copy as a BCC to yourself. You'll see.

Anyway, you can do a Mail merge from Word to Address book, but you'll first need to import the data from Excel or Access into Outlook. Can you do that? dreamboat@nni.com

Never done an import before, trying the import file process now but seems to be hanging. Any suggestions!

Try to make the same field names as in Outlook (if using Access, export to Excel first). Then when you import, MAP the fields. That means you match the fields in Excel to the appropriate fields in Outlook, ignoring the other Outlook fields.

Don't know why it would hang. dreamboat@nni.com

Thank you, got them all in a seperate contact folder now, is there an easy way to automate sending the message to each of them one at a time?

Use Word to do a mailmerge (not as an attachment) to Address book. If you're on an exchange server, you may have to right-click your contacts subfolder and make it an Outlook address book first.

Tools-Mailmerge
Create-Letter
Get Data-Choose Address book, then your folder
Edit main doc
Insert fields where you want them
Hit Tools-Mailmerge-Merge -- to (something that indicates email, I forget what it says, but you don't want "new document") dreamboat@nni.com
