Running Win98, Outlook 97, P3, 128MB Ram
Retrieves email from Exchange 5 server
Problem: If outlook is open and a email message is received the keyboard will lockup. The mouse is still functioning and a reboot is required for the keyboard to function again.

If outlook is closed and a new mail comes in it doesn't effect the keyboard at all.

I've changed notification settings in Outlook, Uninstalled and Reinstalled Office without success.

Thanks in advance for your help!

For those that have read the original post we've solved the mystery. I wanted to share it with everyone. The workstation had HP keyboard drivers installed on it. Using Add/Remove Programs we uninstalled them and it works properly now.

Outlook stores the profile information in the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider\"email name"\Data

Run Regedit
Edit Find
Type in: Protected Storage System Provider (Find Now)
Delete the Key

Go into Outlook remove the account and reput it in.

Outlook DOES have problems.....
