We use HTML mail format for outgoing mail, and auto-signatures in Outlook 2000 and 2003.

Some users want their signature to appear when replying to email, which is fine, until they reply to a message sent in rich text. Their signature isn't added to rich text messages (for obvious reasons).

However, having replied to a rich text message, their signature also stops being added to new HTML messages, and Outlook gives an error "The signature xxxx could not be located. This signature may have been removed."

Looking in the mail format settings, the auto-signature is now blank, but can be re-set.

Has anyone found a way around this annoying behaviour?

No, but I am having the same issue. We have replaced the users profile and microsoft settings in the common folder but to no avail.

Passwords check out
User rights check out
Rest of mailbox is ok

We are on Exchange 5.5\Outlook 2000 SR3

Looking forward to a resolution chaps.... UR help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers. [bigsmile]

Here is the solution to your e-mail issue.

You need to make a signature in each format using your original #####.html as a template. Then you go into the C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures folder and correct any auto format errors.

Hope this helps
