Outlook - how to block sending mails to a specific person

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to block sending a mail to a specific person?

We have several people on our address list with the same surname and first name and the wrong people are frequently getting sent sensitive emails.

If I can set up outlook so I can stop block sending mails to specific people the problem would be solved.

Perhaps I'm missing something but if you don't ever want to send e-mail to someone why not just remove them (or at least their e-mail address(es) from your contact list?

It's a global contact list, not a personal one. I don't have control over who is on the list.

Sorry, Owen, I don't know if it's possible but would it help if you copied the contacts that you *do* want to send to, to a local contacts folder so they would take precedence?

or set up your own distribution list

If you can't make your own distribution list, try a work-round. You could copy a list including the right people to Word or Outlook Notes, and then paste it back. It works for me, at least.

Thanks all. I've set up a rule that mails me when I mail the wrong person. It doesn't solve the problem but at least i#ll know when it happens!
