I have a user who's running Outlook 2000 client on a XP Pro machine. For some reason, his client program doesn't respond like it should when he gets new messages. Matter of fact, it doesn't respond at all until he select one of the older emails. Only then do the new messages pop in. It's a realtively fresh install and I'm almost positive oit's not a server or network issue.

Does anyone know where I can begin to look to resolve this issue? Thanks!

No I haven't. Do you mean on the OS or the program itsel?

If the program, is that already included (like scanpst.exe) or is on a CD?

Thanks.

No, I mean the program (Outlook).

1. Open Outlook
2. Go to "Help"
3. Select "Detect and Repair"

Giving that it was a recent installation and no other users are experiencing the same issue, if the "Detect and Repair" does not work, it may behoove you to just uninstall and reinstall Outlook before you get too invloved in troubleshooting.

Nice! That KB did the trick. Thanks tony72000 and itpro34 fpr the help and suggestions.
