Outlook Express6 doesn't deliver mails

I recently purchased a DELL LatD400 with WinXPP/Office2003Basic preinstalled. I use MS-Outlook on my company lan to get corporate mails which works fine. Along with this, i use Outlook Express for my hotmail account.
Problem: Outlook express is not able to deliver any mails - and unfortunately - it shows that it completed sending mail and no error is popped!!

I am able to receive all mails addressed to this account without any problems!
Is there any other outgoing server of hotmail that can be specified instead of:
Please suggest what could cause this problem and how to resolve it.

My suspicion is that sending to Hotmail is blocked by the company firewall. Does it work outside the network?
 
hi..thnx for replying.
we have other computers who use the same outlook express and are behind same firewall - its ISA2000, and all can send/receive properly. dint try outside network.. thnx for sugestion, wil try it out and let u know.. but if it did.. wht is the next possible option to test?

Are the other machines using OE to send out using Hotmail?
 

yes, there are a few others who are using it. Strangely, it is working for almost all who has been using it all this time.. I tried to configure a new acct on a system from scratch, and it again faces similar problem! that is - the mails go intermittently.. and not on time.
I tried re-installing IE6(which includes OE) from microsoft update site, but stil the same situation!

I to am having the same issue with hotmail, but I think it is the actual hotmail accounts. I say that since my daughters works fine from the same PCs and I have tried this across about 4 different machine. In other words the symptom of sending from your account, but mail not being delivered is my same issue. I also upgraded to Office 2003 for full blown Outlook (not just OE6) and still have the same issue (with or without a firewall).

I have sent an e-mail to support_x@hotmail.com on 7/22, but have heard nothing to this point. If I hear anything I will let you know.
 
My mother is having the same issue with Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP, and she is using a dial up ISP other than Hotmail. It is a random thing, sometimes the email does get sent, sometimes it doesn't and the program says it does. The email that doesn't get sent is also then nowhere to be found in Outlook Express, not in Sent items, not anywhere... She just uses basic dial-up, no firewalls, and the problem just started occurring this past week. She also has a fairly new Dell pc.
