Hi everyone,

I need to move the contact from one Laptop to another and I don't know where the contact are store for Outlook express. Can someone tell me what file i need to copy?

Thanks
Chavito

Hi Chavito,

Look for you’re *.wab files?

Copy them to this location:
For 2000 and XP C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
"administrator" could be you’re login name!

Right click on the wab file(s)/properties remove read only

Now you can use the import-function in the file menu to get you’re contacts folder in!

Good Luck,

Okay the lap top that I need to copy the contact has Windows ME and I need to move it to a laptop running Windows XP Home.

So I need to copy the file from the Laptop w/ME *.wab and copy this file on the other laptop with XP?
and use the import fuction on Outlook Express?

Yep,

I think it should work from a lower version to an higher version! (but i'm not sure, from XP to M it won't work)

Good luck,

JVerdaasdonk,

Thanks for all the info, I have another question though. How do I can copy Local Folder\Inbox messages from the Me pc to XP? I tried without any success.

OE Version may be the issue. Upgrade the outlook express in Win Me to ver6. Then you will be able to import the messages and address book from XP.
