I am unable to open links from within an email in Outlook Express. When the link is clicked the hand symbol stays on the screen, no progress "green bar" indicator shows up, and nothing happens. The only way to get out is to End Task through Task Manager. Any ideas are greatly appriciated.

I have entered all of the dll files, but the same problem is still there. I talked to a friend and she had the same some time ago. Her problem was linked some how to an anti-popup software that she may have got through Norton Antivirus. She said that in order to hook up the links through email that first hold down the control key and then click on the link... what do you know.. IT WORKS...!
But I'm not sure why... Needless to say this is inconvenient, not to mention strange. Do you have any answers??

If you had another browser set as the default try these steps and this should fix your problem. I had Netscape set as the default browser at one time and when I removed it, I could not open links from oe.

Double-click My Computer on the desktop.
On the View menu, click Folder Options (or Options).
Click the File Types tab, click URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol in the Registered File Types box, and then click Edit.
In the Actions box, click Open, and then click Edit.
Click Browse, navigate to the \Program Files\Internet Explorer folder, click the Iexplore.exe file, click Open, click OK, click Close, and then click Close.
NOTE: You may also need to repeat these steps for the following file associations:
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy
URL:File Transfer Protocol
URL:Gopher Protocol
Set Internet Explorer to Be the Default Browser
Set Internet Explorer to check whether it is the default browser:
Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet.
Click the Programs tab, and then click to select the Internet Explorer should check whether it is the default browser check box.
Click Apply, and then click OK. Start Internet Explorer, and then click OK when you are prompted to make Internet Explorer the default browser.

Thankyou for your time and insight, this WORKS... I am now able to open the links from email on OE. Thanks again, much appreciated
