Hello,

I'm using OE for POP/SMTP email access. I recently had to reimage my hard drive due to OS unstability. I backed up everything, but do not know how to restore, or find the file where my email is located. Can anyone help?

sirlance, that depends on which version of windows your running. In 98 you can look in windows\application data\identities\{####}\Microsoft\Outlook Express.

You may need to turn on viewing of hidden files if you haven't already done so. There are lots of files here they all end in .dbx They represent all the folders in OE.

You can either just copy and paste over your new OE files (if you haven't already started using it). Otherwise you can use the built in features of OE to import, you just have to browse to this folder level.

If you're on a different OS version let me know.

Craig

Thanks Craig.

I was using 98. I'm now using 2K. Also, is there a import feature for Outlook of OE files? I've moved to Outlook instead of OE.

Ah, understand the frustration. Not that I'm aware of. Best best is to export OE to CVS file and then use Outlook to import CVS.

I'll keep looking for ya.
