Outlook Express opens AIM

I have Outlook Express 6 installed and I have AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) installed on a Windows XP Pro computer. When I open Outlook Express, it automatically opens AIM. I can't figure out how to get this to stop (besides uninstalling AIM). I would think there is a way in the registry to stop it. Anyone know how to stop it?

While in AIM, go to Preferences, Sign On/Off, and UNCHECK the make AIM my default tick-box.

You can block any messenger from opening when launching OE by following the registry edit instructions here
