Outlook express opening PDF files

When one of my users opened their pdf files they got the following error message "There was an error opening this document. A temporary file could not be opened" Can anyone advise what might be causing the error?

First of all, can they open other PDF's? Get the latest version of Acrobat Reader at:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Secondly, try saving the attachment to the desk top and double clicking on it instead of trying to just double click the attachment. Also check for drive space, could be low.

Drive space was fine (8 gig free)
they have the latest version of acrobat
and it does not help to save the fiel to the desktop.

Okay, have you done the basics? rebuild desktop, zap pram, run a disk utility, reinstall the app?

Check that in "Apple Menu - Control Panels - File Exchange" that .pdf files are set to be opened by Acrobat
