For some time now I have been having a problems sending e-mail using Outlook Express 6 and Outlook 2000. About a minute after I hit the send button I get a server timed out error and the message won't go through. When I try to send the same e-mail using my other computer it goes through without a problem. I believe its a problem relating to Outlook since I was able to send it using another system. I tried deleting my outbox but that didn't seem to do anything. It seems to be getting progressively worse. At first it happened every once in a while. Now it's happening more and more frequently. Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?

Hello -- I am currently having this problem in both Outlook and Outlook Express just as you and I was wondering if you ever found a way to fix it?

Thanks!

Not an O/OE expert but there have been posts about then going south when the PST? files were 'too large'. Is that a possibility? U|Is there a way to compact?

If it really gets bad, to verify that it is an O/OE problem you might try Eudora, Pegasus or some command line sender just to confirm that the rest of the connection is working fine.

If it get to that, Google on Eudora or Pegasus or SendOne or Blat Email

The problem suddenly resolved itself about 30 minutes after I posted the message, but I'm still curious as to the cause. The PST file was fresh -- and the problem was happening in Outlook Express as well (no PST). Very strange that the problem persisted solid for 2 weeks and then suddenly resolved itself today. I will say this though -- I don't think Outlook (not express) is very suitable for dialup situations -- Outlook Express is much cleaner with dialup connections -- even with the occasional need to delete and recreate the mail account. Thanks for the reply.

Help! I have outlook express and i cannot send emails out anymore. It hold my replies in the outbox but it disconnects me from the internet. Then when i reconnect and try to send it out i get an error message. What happens is it does its little "authorizing - connecting" routine through all my mailboxes and if there is incoming mail, i get it...(receiving mail) but it never sends out from the outbox (well, sometimes it does after several times of me re-connecting to the internet - or if i go into the outbox and send each message out individually 0 after which it disconnects and i must reconnect and go in and send out the next individual message). Here is the error message i get:

A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to connect to the server. Account: 'Mail Account', Server: 'smtp.sweetoasis.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC15

I cannot find a reference to this message or what to do about it. My mailing system worked wonderfully until about two weeks ago when i ran into this. What can be done and how can i prevent it occuring in the future?

THANKS LOADS FOR YOUR HELP!!!
