outlook express cannot be set as default mail client 1

I am trying to set OE as my default email client in internet options programs there are only 3 choices hotmail outlook and msn explorer I can open OE fine from the desktop short cut but cannot use the browser mail option

Try this (including quotation marks):

Start, Run, "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

Now you should be able to choose OE as your default mail client.
