Outlook Express 6

Hi all

I have upgraded my Windows 2000 Professional to Windows XP Professional and the problem is that it has installed Internet Explorer 6 but not Outlook Express 6 i have Outlook Express 5 and i tried to update Internet Explorer 6 but i still have Outlook Express 5.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Here are some snippets from off the web that might give you some clues. A lot of these mention IE6 or IE6 and OE6, see if anything helps.

Microsoft has posted a generic registry-edit workaround at

(What if you changed the following to install OE6?)

To Reinstall IE6:

1) Insert the Win XP CD

2) Open Start / Run and type:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf
