Outlook export address list

I have Outlook 2000 running on a network and want to export the address list so that i can import it to my laptop.
The source machine is Win2K and target is Win XP.

I am not talking about the contacts list.

I have managed to add them to my personal address book but I dont get the SMTP email addresses.

Can anyone suggest a solution.

If the address list is stored in the defualt *.pst file that Outlook uses it might be easiest to isolate that file and copy it to your laptop.

The dafault loacation for the *.pst file should be (W2K) C:\Documents and Settings\%userprofile\Local Settings\Application Data\Miscrsoft\Outlook.

You might also try looking in Outlook (2K) at File=>Import and Export and then follow the wizard to export the data as a file (*.csv, ...). You may be prompted to install the converters if you have never used them before.

I appologize I misunderstood your original request so my response is pretty much crap for what you are trying to do. Once it dawned on me what you were trying to do I think I found a partial solution that will get you moving in the right direction.

In the help file in Outlook search for "Copy the Global Address List to your computer", this will show you how to make a local copy of the address book on your computer. Once you find this you should be able to move a copy to your laptop for use there.

I cannot try it to see what happens becasue my company has 300,000+ entries in the address book.

Hopefully this is more helpful then my last, misdirected, post.
