Outlook expanding inbox folders

I'm having problems with outlook 2000. It seems that for one user, whenever he opens outlook, and goes to the inbox, all of the emails (which are being sorted by sender), are expanded. If he colapses them all, then goes to another folder i.e. calendar, then goes back to the inbox, they are all open again?

I've tried opening the users inbox on a different pc, and the same problem occurs.

Is there any option, that defaults the inbox to expand?

I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but when in the in-box; click View, then de-select 'AutoPreview'.
