From time to time when I send an attachment via Outlook 2000 using '98 from home on Broadband, the attachments arrive as a *dat file (or is it win.dat?) which cannot be viewed.

Any ideas?

I've experienced a similar problem except from the recipient end. People have tried to send spread sheet attachments from inside Outlook and also AutoCad attachments and all I get are win.dat attachments. These can be "seen" by going to my inbox via webmail, but they don't display in Outlook Express. Any help with this annoying issue will be most welcome!!

Tell the sender to change the sending format from Rich Text to plain text or HTML.
