Running Outlook 6 on Win 98
Frequently the system crashes during the downloading of email from the mail server(ISP). I think it might be having problems with return reciepts becuase the mail is coming from somone who constantly sends them. If I go onto the mail server and delete the message the machine will run fine. But it's crashing 5-10 times a day. This is my boss and his Mailbox is huge and hasn't had maintenance on it. This machine was installed fresh with win 98 and outlook less than a month ago. All of his folders and emails were imported.

One more thing, When the machine crashes while dowloading mail from the server, often times all folders will disappear. Rebooting the machine brings them back.

Thanks

Sounds like a corrupted pst file. Have you tried testing the integrity of the pst file by using the scanpst.exe tool? joegz
