Hello,

On my Windows 2000 pro box with office 2000 I can go into outlook and send an attachment with a choice of:

insert
insert as text
insert as hyperlink
insert as shortcut

but in my new system running office xp I only get
insert
insert as text
insert as hyperlink

how do I add insert as shortcut?

Peter

Open the New mail window and drag the shortcut from say desktop to this new email window and now you will be able to attach the .lnk files.

From what I have read on this (though no place says this literally) I think Microsoft has taken that option out for some insane reason in XP. You will have to create a shortcut to the file and then attach the shortcut as a file. Or do the drag and drop as previously mentioned.

Thanks for the quick reply guys,

I tried to drag a xls or doc from desktop to the new email and the options are

Move Here
Copy Here
Create Shortcut here (greyed out)
Create Hyperlink here
Cancel

I cannot choose shortcut because it's greyed out why?

Thanks,

Peter

Just drag the shortcut to your e-mail body and it will automatically add it as an attachment.
