I have a user in our Exchange organization (Exchange 5.5 Service Pack 4) that is having a strange problem with his mailbox Calendar. The Calendar works fine up until a specific day (june 6). If you try and click on June 6th or any day after that, Outlook completely locks up. You get the hour glass and it appears that Outlook is trying to access that day, but no dice. You have to do an "end task" on outlook to get out. I've waited for a good hour and Outlook never recovered. This problem happens no matter what machine I open his mailbox on. So it's not client specific or machine specific. I've also tried to access his calendar through my mailbox (opening his mailbox up as an alternate mailbox) and by going through OWA. They both freeze as well. We also initially tried doing a repair and a uninstall/reinstall of Outlook. Any suggestions??

One last note: Another user had a problem exactly like this and he was able to fix the problem by deleting all the messages from that day out of his Palm Pilot and then syncing with Outlook. So I'm pretty sure if I could just get into that day and delete the messages I would be good....but I just can't seem to access it. Please help!

I would agree that it's a corrupted entry in that day. Sounds like the sync with the Palm bypassed whatever was locking up Outlook and resolving the issue. Can you do the same thing with this user? Set up a Palm and tell it to remove all entries for that day?

It could also be a 2GB size limit issue. Here's a website with several suggestions on how to resolve a problem with a PST file:

I've found that going through these suggestions will typically resolve most issues. Hope this helps.

The user is not using a PST file. All the files are stored on the Exchange server.
