Outlook AOL, trying to setup

I've followed the MS instructions and still getting error message:
0x800CCC0E could not fetch new headers in the folder (null) for account imap.aol.com. Error uable to connect to server..'

What can I do?

Check with AOL for instructions. It seems you are not getting AOL to connect.

The answer is "42"

I called AOL and they refenced a page that I was already using. Now I'm getting a TCP/IP error. Where should I try now?

For testing purposes, and only for testing, disable any antivirus and firewall software. Be careful not to open anything, but just see if you can get it to connect. Generally speaking, 0x800CCC0E is a timeout related error that is very often caused by antivirus software.
 
Also, for the sake of being thorough, web browsing & other internet services work properly, right?
 
thanks, disabled firewall, but now getting a TCP/IP error. Anyway to search for a correction?

What kind of TCP/IP error? I haven't seen a TCP/IP error in Outlook. Have you tried Outlook Express? What about normal web browsing - does that work OK?
