Outlook 98 not sending out Read receipts

One of our users has a strange problem - his Outlook 98 is not sending out read receipts.

He has the standard setup, all the relevant options are ticked. Delivery receips are sent out as usual, but no read receipts.

I have checked his mailbox for rules (none), have reinstalled Outlook and even unregistered and re-registered the application (/unregserver, /regserver). Nothing has helped so far.

Any idea what might be causing this? The MSKB has been of no help - any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Does the user have any outlook add ons like the 3 pain extension and ifact can read the message without it actually being oppened? Njoy!

No, he opens the message "properly". We have even tested this by opening his mailbox on the Exchange server, sending him an email and opening it in his mailbox ourselves. Still no joy!

The users receiving the emails, are they on Exchange too otherwise this won't work.
