Hi! Here is the issue at hand: I have a client who has two computers (laptop and desktop) and has the same 5 email accounts set up on both. All settings verified and are the same. Both connected to a Linksys Router and DSL internet. The issue is that the laptop will fire out emails with no problem, quickly and efficiently. The desktop will not. Again, same accounts, same settings, and generally testing with the same attachments, etc. What happens on the desktop is that the mail will "hang" in the outbox for a while, and *sometimes* eventually go, and sometimes he has to open the outbox and click "send" again and it will go. Sometimes he will get errors. Sometimes it will fire right out. One consistent is a tcp/ip time out issue, but again, NOT with the laptop, no matter what is going on. Laptop is on XP Office (for Outlook) and Desktop is on Office 2000 Pro for Outlook. The only thing I could come up with is the fact that both are set to send/receive every minute. Maybe a collision? So with that thought, I had him disconnect the laptop. Seemed like the desktop was fixed and problem solved, but to no avail. There is something on the desktop that is not making it. Any ideas here? Now as far as the tcp/ip error is concerned, if you connect to the internet browser immediately when that happens, you get right on, so the internet connection seems fine. What else can I check? Thanks so much in advance!
