When I try to open Outlook 2010, I get a prompt to enter the password, but it keeps rejecting it, saying it cannot connect to the server. This just happened from one day to the next with nothing being changed in the meantime. My computer is the only one affected. Any suggestions?

I've seen this before - no reason. See if you can log in to your webmail interface with the password you THINK is correct. Re-enter that password when prompted. Next, check all the settings in the account and make sure your user name is correct. Some mail servers like USERNAME@domain.com but others just want USERNAME.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, that did not work.

Sometimes the mail account gets corrupted, delete the account and re-enter it. Seen the MSupdates screw things up, restore to an earlier date. I love Outlook, 1,000 things can go wrong, with 100,000 possible fixes.

That would have been my next suggestion as well. Some type of corruption in the account.
