Outlook 2007 - Contacts. Can this really be true? It's 2007!

Is it me, or Outlook? Why, when entering a name on the "To:" field can't I just put in the first or last name, and then there will be either that name appearing in that field straight away, or a list of possible email addresses/contacts (for example, ALL the Martins I know)? Why do I always have to type in the full name, or use the Contacts button? I mean, my Oulook on Windows for Mobiles 2005 does that! Why can't Outlook 2007? Or did I just not find a box to tick, a button to press? Oh yeah, I'm angry.

Nope. These boxes are ticked, by default. Good thinking though, it sounds as if these things SHOULD do what I want to do. Just why they don't is beyond me.

it sounds like your .nk2 file is corrupted... copy one from another machine you use... it holds the know addresses that you want to populate. Once you've addressed a mail item to someone, their address and name is stored here

Not a surprise that the .nk2 file shouldnt be as I wanted it to be: I just installed Vista/Office 2007 new, and just imported everything that i had previoulsy exported as a .pst file. Why can't simply ALL my contact names show up in the way they do after I've used them once?
