Hi!

Can I use Windows Server as an application server with Outlook 2007? - I want to have access to my outlook(email, calendar) from different computers on my network with Windows Server 2003 R2.

Unless something has changed in Office 2007, I think you will have to use Exchange Server or a subsitute like MAPILabs Groupware to share outlook contacts.

This old world keeps spinning round - It's a wonder tall trees ain't layin' down

Problem is not with sharing but with accessing outlook(emails,attachments,contacts....) from different computers, ex: desktop and laptop. How to have one outlook on both computers without synchronizing?

Can I place outlook files on server and access them from different computers??

Hi,

We tried many ways of doing this with sbs2003 and XP.
We did have some luck, after using outlook 2003 on a PC with a local PST, we moved the PST to a mapped drive on the SBS2003. We then repeated the process on a laptop but mapped the laptop PST to the server.

The problem was we could only use outlook when connected to the server.

Eventaully we bought exchange server as this also allowed us web mail via
Another option we considered was asking our ISP (BT) to run exchange for us. This was cheap but much slower and limited the number of emails that we could simultaniuosly view.

xcuse spelings
